Hebrews 11:33–35
33 | who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. 35 Women received back their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life.
Why “Worship, Worthship and Warship”? Do they go together? How is this relevant? These questions are at the heart of this teaching. I must say this study could not have come at a better time. It has been provided to challenge our mindsets and attitudes on our walk with Christ. This study will give us an in-depth study on the frameworks to change the world from the perspective of the kingdom. We need to be able to properly diagnose what we as believers want to transform with our faith. We need to dress properly for what we want to address in society and culture.
‘Ethiopians cannot change their skin; the leopard cannot change its spots, only God can transform hearts’, Robert Smith
On the deepest level racism is not an issue of skin but sin.
There are two main kinds of races. Yes there are nations, ethnicities and tribes we identify with on a natural level. Where you are born and raised are all part of God’s plan for us. The rest are just expressions of diversity, the same in essence but diverse. God created man as his image. He never discussed race.
The two races:
- The Adamic race: The Adamic race is anyone born human that is not regenerated in Christ Jesus. Thereby having the life and seed from Adam. In 1 Peter 1:23 the ‘corruptible seed’ is the seed of man. The fallen sons of Adam have a carnal nature.
- The new creation in Christ race: 2 Corinthians 5:17. We are now a new kind, a new type, a new creation of man.
In essence, the race you belong to determines your worth.
As the foregoing illustrates, the ideas and philosophies that people have embraced as their roots is fuelled by what people worship. They worth that they find or don’t find are what inspire to war. Who you worship reveals who you are. Who you worship determines your worth. Your worth determines your war (what you fight and contend for). The moment that Adam fell his descendants where open to the issue of worth.
The loss of devotion to God has brought about the issue of sin. The God that you serve reveals your worth, the measure of your assignment and your pursuit in life. If your God is money then your worth is money. If your God is entertainment then your worth is entertainment.
The reason why there is divide in culture today is because people worship different things. There is a lack of equality. As believers we worship God centrally we are all citizens of the kingdom of heaven, the same blood that redeems had redeemed you, we are equal before God. When people worship different things they begin to fight for significance over one another. This leads to different estimations of worship which has different estimations of worth.
In Christ divides are healed. God brings hostility to an end. The solution to the end of hostility and prejudice is the new man in Christ. Equality is never going to come by protests though important. This is not a physical issue but a spiritual issue. True transformation in culture occurs when people are transformed and transformed people transform their culture.
